Our products
Only inspected, genuine sanyangsam
Sanyangsam is a 'specially managed forest product' under Korea's Forestry Promotion Act. From before the seed goes in to the day it ships, it must pass inspections and record checks by the Korea Forestry Promotion Institute, and only roots that pass the quality test may be sold with a certificate. Leegilsin Pyeongchang Wild Ginseng sells only sanyangsam that has been through every step.
Sanyangsam sold without inspection
- No way to verify the root's age
- No certificate, no inspection number

Leegilsin Pyeongchang Wild Ginseng
- Sold with the institute's quality-test certificate attached

How the Korea Forestry Promotion Institute inspects
01
Site suitability survey
The institute tests soil, seeds and seedlings for pesticide residue.
02
Production report
The survey results are filed with the local mayor or county office before planting.
03
Cultivation
Grown without pesticides or fertilizer, with a cultivation log. False entries are fined.
04
Record checks
The institute reviews the cultivation records every three years.
05
Quality test
A pesticide-residue test before shipping. Roots that fail are destroyed and cannot be sold.
06
Certificate & distribution

The same land, 500 years on
Sinjeung Dongguk Yeoji Seungnam (1530) lists ginseng among Pyeongchang's local products, and the Joseon court closed the Gariwangsan ridge with a stone marker to protect it. Highland air at 700m, wide day-night swings, deep leaf-mould soil — the conditions those records described are still here.
